Hi, I'm Ellen.

I run StolenChat「離線時間」from Singapore — a podcast, publication, and services studio at the intersection of China's AI ecosystem and global markets.

Over the past two years, I've met 50+ AI founders in Singapore and helped them navigate what comes after building a good product: finding users, raising capital, and making the right connections in unfamiliar markets.

Before this, I cold-started the Singapore operations for a Zhihu-backed overseas Chinese social platform. Before that, I worked in venture and deal-sourcing. The common thread has always been the same: connecting people across ecosystems that don't naturally talk to each other.

Why StolenChat exists

Chinese AI companies are going global faster than any previous wave of tech startups. But "going global" usually starts with a specific, practical question: where do I incorporate? Who should I meet? How does EP application actually work? Should I do SuperAI or Web Summit?

The information exists, but it's scattered across private WeChat groups, behind closed-door meetings, and inside the heads of people who've already done it. I kept finding myself in rooms where this information was shared freely — and thinking it should be written down.

StolenChat is where I write it down. The podcast captures conversations with founders and practitioners. The field notes capture what I observe firsthand. And the services are for companies that want help acting on what they learn.

What I believe

The most valuable knowledge in the AI era isn't about models or benchmarks — it's about people, relationships, and context that can't be Googled. The founders who succeed globally aren't necessarily the ones with the best technology. They're the ones who find the right people in the right rooms at the right time.

I try to be one of those people. And when I can't be, I know who can.

StolenChat is based in Singapore. The name comes from「離線時間」— time stolen from the always-on, always-performing default state. The best conversations happen when you go offline.
